Tibetan Spelling Bee Contest VII - 13TH MAY
In the picture: The two hosts of the Tibetan Spelling Bee giving a grand introductionThe senior Tibetan Spelling Bee contest for the class VII, which was arranged by the Tibetan Department was held in
Phuntsok Deshi Hall. The contest was curtain raised by two Tibetan teachers namely Mr. Tsewang Dorjee la and Tenzin
Choekyab la. There were eight different class VII with two members from each class. The stage was well decorated with
beautiful wordings related to Spelling. As the contest began, the host introduced the Four rounds. First the two syllable
words were asked followed by three syllable words followed by four syllable words and finally mix syllable words. The manner
it was held was somewhat like Kaun Banega Crorepati, in which the contestants were called on the Hot seat.The words were all
ordinary words which the participants can find in their textbooks.From each round, the team with the lowest score was
kicked out. That finally left only three teams which were very competitive. But finally only one team came out as the winner
who were awarded the title Speeling Bee by the school Senior Headmaster. The host and the questioners were very
enthusiastic themselves that they made everybody there enjoy a lot.
Talk on Tuberculosis
In the picture: A doctor and the health staff giving presentation about Tuberculosis. A talk on the most common disease in Tibetan community Tuberculosis was given by Dr. David Hanny, a long time
practitioner, with the help of a health staff and a former student of TCV, nurse Youdon la. The talk was given in the
hall in two shifts, one for the senior students and the other one for the junior students. His talk was given in English and
translated by the health staff. His talk was further enliven by the use of of projector. The doctor gave a detailed report
about the condition of this disease in Indian and Tibetan society specially giving tips on how to take precautions.
After the talk, there was question answer session and the students cleared their doubts.The students came our with a
good knowledge of this disease.
ATPD Representatives' Talk - Sunday 17th May:
In the picture: Two ATPD giving valuable talk to the students and staff members of TCV SujaTwo representatives of the ATPD, Geshe
Tsering Ringpo la and Mr. Tsultrim Tenzin la visited TCV Suja and gave talk on Tibet's Past present and future status. The
school Director, gave a brief welcome speech to the two representatives who have come here purposely to give talk.
They talked one by one touching back to the history of Tibet when Tibet was Independent to the coming of the Red Chinese in
the late 40s. Geshe la mainly touched the history part and Mr. Tsultrim la touched the present Tibetan status.They also
talked as to how Middle way Approach came into being and the present status of the Negotiation.Speaking on the ocassion,
Mr. Tsultrim Tenzin said, " The issue of Tibet has to be solved by the Tibetans only. There is a responsiblity on the
shoulder of every Tibetan People.So, we have to do our best for our common cause intead of depending on somebody else to
struggle for our cause." At the end of the talk he requested the teachers as well as the students to do their duties
sincerely and with full dedication. After their talk, there was a brief time for question answer session, in which the
students shared their doubts. After nearly two hours of talk, the school Director gave them schools magazines as a token of
our love and thanked both of them for their touching and informative talk.
Senior Science Quiz Contest
In the picture:Sience and Maths Quiz contest in the full swing through modern technology.The first science and Maths quiz contest was held in Senior hall on 15th May at 7 pm. The quiz was arranged by the science and maths department. The quiz was among the senior class comprising of class IX and X. The whole questions were displayed with the help of Powerpoint presentation done by the computer teacher. The quiz master Mr. Ngawang Thupten la introduced the team names which were based on the character of carbon atoms. He perfectly displayed these character with live demonstration.In this quiz as usual there were five rounds from buzzer to Speed round.The host called upon the
quiz masters one by one with a detailed definition of the quiz master's name. Like usual, the quiz was very attractive and lively. Finally the winning teams were honoured by the Headmaster.
Two Days Teaching on Buddhism

TCV Suja: 2nd May : A two days Teaching on Buddhism by His Eminence Tai Situ Rinpoche was arranged by the school as a religious programme to mark the 50 years in Exile. The teaching began on 2nd May on the basket ball court, where there were a gathering of around two thousand people comprising of the school staff members, students and people from nearby colonies. His Eminence Situ Rinpoche talked on the three processes of base, path and result. Later in the after noon, discussions were done between the students and the
Geshes from Sherabling Monastery.
The next day, His eminence gave TA Chak queng wang for the people gathered there. Later he visited the science exhibition which was displayed in the school hall.
Science Day Observed with grand exhibition
TCV Suja observed its Science Day on 27th April, with both the sections i.e. Junior as well as Senior having their functions during the assembly. Later an exhibition comprising of working models, experiments,pictures, charts and live explanation was held in the respective school halls.The exhibition was dedicated to the commemoration of the 50 years in exile.The exhibition was organised by the Science and Maths Department of TCV school. There are classes from III to x taking part in the exhibition with the help from their respective science and math teachers.In the following days, classes were taken to the exhibition in turn.Later after the Two days, Buddhist teaching by His Eminence Tai Situ Rinpoche, Rinpoche and his convey visited the exhibition and praised highly of the standard of the Science and Math.
