Junior Section’s Tibetan Speaking Day
3rd May, 2008
On 3rd May Saturday, Junior School observed Tibetan Speaking Day, a Day similar to English Day. On this Day, different classes come up with their own merchandise and display on the Junior Basket ball ground. The main idea of having this Day by the Tibetan Department, was to encourage both the students as well as teachers, to speak pure and refined Tibetan language. The students as well as their teachers, come one by one and buy whatever they like. But all the interactions are done purely in Tibetan, which was the man purpose of having this Day. On that day, there were some students who had also come up in different characters from different books, as well as students in the disguise of great personalities etc and they were given marks in the end. The Day came to an end successfully.ENGLSH SPEAKING DAY CLASS VI
5th May 2008
The English Speaking Day was observed by Class VI, with due support from the Arts Department of Senor Section on 5th May 200. This English Speaking Day was first born in Suja, a couple of years back. Unlike last year, this year the English Speaking Day was dedicated to all those martyrs in Tibet; and whatever little income earned, half was donated for the prayers in the name of those martyrs. Beside that, there was a special message column for the Martyrs in Tibet. Every year, both the Junior Section as well as Senior Section organize such day. The main purpose of this Day, is to provide a platform for both the teachers as well as the students to speak in pure English. On this English Speaking Day, different class VIs, keep different stalls like the one, that we used to have during the annual school spring Fete. Both the students as well as the teachers, come and buy and eat whatever they like, and where all the interactions are done in English, failing to which one will be fined. There is an open stage where anyone can recite poems, give speech, play Drama etc. Unfortunately, the long awaited day, as well as the Day anticipated with advance hard work and labor, was timely disturbed by the unprecedented rainfall. Despite that, the Day went successfully and there was lively animation on the face of everyone who visited those stalls.O/C I and II Tibetan Quiz Contest
