The social day, which is observed every year by the Social Science teacher was observed today. During the assembly, as per the topics given to various classes weeks' ahead, the classes one by one presented their topic. All the topics were related to social sciences especially like Election Process, consumer awareness and education, disaster managements etc. The program began with the introductory speech by the social teacher Mr. Ngawang Tseten la.The main crowd puller was the one by the class IX students, in which they showed the mock election. Some of them were taking the role of the Election commissioner, some of them are taking the role of the media persons, some security and others, different parties with their candidates. In order to make the audience see a clear picture, they had also put on the real costumes. It was worth thousands of lecture in the class as there is a saying, " The picture speaks a lot".As such, the morning program consumed the whole two periods. Apart from these programs, some of the classes specially VII's have gone to nearby villages and town to spread the message of global warming and raise slogans like " Safe Water" etc. Not only that, there would be election for the party candidate in the days to come. All these come under Social Day. A couple of years back, on Social Day, there were just display of pictorial charts, models, lectures etc. But the things remained not like that as the social teachers found that quite abstract. So, they come up with the idea of getting long with the society like interacting with the local people and making them aware of all these social issues. This program runs as one of the three major programs of the school, and as such both the social teachers as well as the students used to work really hard.
