Tibetan Debate Contest ( Senior Section )

Dated: 1st April, 2008

The first Senior section Inter class IX and X Tibetan Debate was held on 1st April 2008 in Phuntsok Deshi Hall. There were total of 10 speakers out of which 5 were against the topic and 5 for the motion. The Debate was chaired by Mr. Tenzin Dorjee la. The motion of the debate was " Others before Self", which is the very moral of our school. The debate was witnessed by students of class VII and above and the staff members. The winner of the Debate was none other than our school Boy Captain, Master Choegyal Kyab.

Tibetan Elocution Contest ( Senior Section )

Dated: 4rth April, 2008

The first Inter O/C Elocution Contest was held on 4th April 2008 in the senior school hall, Phuntsok Deshi. There were poetry section, Speech section and Drama Section. The Contest was chaired by Mr. Tashi Tsering la and there were classes below VI who witnessed the contest. The results are like this :

Inter- House Basket ball and Volley ball Tournament

Dated: 14th April, 2008

The first Inter-House Basket ball and Volley ball tournament of the year 2008 began on 14th April. There were total of 4 houses namely Trisong, Triral, Nyatri and Songtsen. They were divided broadly into 3 Divisions namely
  1. Senior,
  2. Inter and
  3. Junior
equally between Boys and Girls. Every day there were two matches. As far as the results are concerned, its like this

The Basket ball tournament was followed by Inter-House Volley ball and Handball Tornament. The results were like this :

English Drama by Language class

Dated: 19th April, 2008

The Language class presented their long practised English Drama titled," The Modern Robin Hood" in Phuntsok Deshi Hall on Saturday Night of 3rd May. The Drama lasted for nearly 45 minutes and during which it kept all the audience comprising both the teachers and students glued. The Language Drama was helped by their teachers Mr. Namkhang Tsering la along with the two volunteer teachers Louis and Tagii. There were total of 49 students taking various roles. The whole audience gave a big round of applause at the end of the Drama.

English Elocution Contest

The Senior Section first English Elocution Contest was held in the school hall on 19th March 2008 at 7 p.m.This time the contest was chaired by Miss Tenchoe la and there were 5 students each from different class in Poem, Speech and Dramatic Extract. The theme of this Elocution contest was on Environment. The stage was decorated beautifully with all the recycled things, which too gave a huge message why we go Eco-friendly. The prizes given to the winners were also recycled books. Finally, the member of the Judge, Miss Pema Yangchen la gave her opinion on the contest. The fist Elocution contest came to an end triumphantly with a strong request from the chair to use recycled products as much as we can.

O/C Class English Poetry Recitation

Dated: 22nd April, 2008

The first O/C Class Poetry Recitation was held in the school hall Phuntsok Deshi on 22nd March 2008. The Recitation contest was chaired by Miss. Tenzin Lhakyi la. There were total of Six O/C classes. All their class poems are related to Tibet. Their recitation was well applauded by the members on the floor comprising of class VI and O/Cs and staff members. Finally three classes were selected and given the prizes. The results was like this :

Inter-House Tibetan and English Essay

Dated: 26th April '08

The first Inter- House English and Tibetan essay writing was held on 26th April. Thee English essay contest was for Class VI and O/C and the Tibetan Essay was for class VII and above. The Tibetan and English essay was arranged by Rev. Tseten Wangchuk la and Mrs. Pema Choedon la respectively. The topic for the English essay contest was " My country Tibet under the Chinese Occupation". In both the contests, there were ten participants from the four houses. And all of them made their appearance willingly without any fail as such the contest went successfully in due time.

The above results were declared during the morning assembly and the position holders were accoladed and given prizes. The second Inter-House Essay competition is going to be held very soon on 14th June '08.

Tibetan Debate Contest ( Junior Section )

Dated: 27th April, 2008

The first Inter class V Tibetan Debate was held in Junior school hall on 27th march 2008. The Debate by chaired by one of the students of class V with kind guidance from their teacher. The debate was held between the four sections of class V. There were total of 4 speakers two for the motion and two against the motion. The motion for that Debate was " Character Is More Important than Education". The Debate was won by the group which said that Character is more Important than Education.

Science Day Observed

Dated: 28th April, 2008

The Science Day of both the Senior and Junior Section of our school was observed on 28th April in Phuntsok Deshi Hall and Junior School Hall respectively. This Day was arranged with long toil by Science and Math Department of the both Sections. On the very day, during the assembly there was an introduction speech by the Department Head Mr. Aten la, who gave the rhyme and reason as to why they observe Science Day. His speech was followed by introduction to the two parts of science namely Biology and Chemistry by science teachers Mr. Tseten Rabgyal la and Mr. Migmar la respectively. Their talk was followed by the concluding speech of the school Principal Mr. Sonam Sichoe la.
There was a big exhibition ranging from various topics on science as well as math in the hall by various classes with their student representatives. The classes were taken in the hall one by one. It was very helpful for the students as they all come out with some new knowledge, when they come out from the Exhibition Hall. The Day concluded with the screening of the most talked about Documentary film by Mr. Al-gore" Inconvenient Truth ", which was very much relevant to present day situation and the students like it very much.
